About

I am a Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist having trained at Payne Whitney Clinic-New York Presbyterian/Cornell where I actively teach medical students, adult psychiatry residents, and child psychiatry residents. Prior to private practice, I did a sub-specialty fellowship in parent/infant psychiatry (under 5's) and was medical director of a maternity residential center for pregnant teens. My treatment modality is individual psychotherapy and parent guidance and medication only when indicated for any issues of difficulty at home or at school including behavioral issues, learning issues, attentional issues, developmental delays, sleep issues, eating issues, anxiety, and depression.

I think in a systems approach of what is going on within the family and deal with such stressors such as births of siblings, parent separation/divorce, or death and medical illness. I work with mothers with post-partum blues or issues that arise in the first months through adolescence.

I do treat severe symptoms with medication. The potential gains must far outweigh the potential adverse effects that medications pose to developing children and their brains.
